Mustajab Nazir Dhoki
Zohran Mamdani, a name resonating globally, has made history as the youngest Mayor of a prominent metropolitan city, New York. Born in Africa and raised in a Muslim family, this mid-30s leader has garnered attention worldwide for his progressive vision and commitment to public service. With a background that reflects the diversity of the city he now leads, Mamdani is poised to bring about transformative change and represent the voices of his constituents on the global stage.
After 133 years, a new chapter unfolds in the history of US politics as a young, visionary leader with exceptional public dealing skills takes office as the Mayor of New York.
Despite being outspent by billionaires who sought to undermine his campaign and potentially pave the way for extremist leadership, Mayor Zohran’s grassroots approach proved triumphant. While his opponents sought to exploit the city’s politics for ulterior motives, including funding genocide in the Middle East, Mayor Mamdani remained committed to the people, knocking on doors and engaging with hundreds of thousands of residents to build a better future for all.
His platform prioritizes affordability, housing, and inequality, featuring bold proposals like free city bus travel, universal childcare, and city-run grocery stores to build a more inclusive and sustainable community.
Back in the 1960s in Pakistan, a young leader raised a slogan of Roti, Kapra aur Makaan, ( food, clothing & shelter) who knew that slogan would change the mindset of a democratic person decades later in the streets of New York where the majority are Jews who own literally billions, are the citizens of New York who tried best to make him lose, but Mamdani’s commitment for basic rights won him millions of votes.
His win is expected to bring progressive changes. For the first time in the history of the USA a Muslim won the elections as the mayor, this feels like a personal victory for all Muslims whether the Muslims are in our neighbouring countries or in Pakistan. Mamdani has won the hearts of millions.
Governor Andrew Cuomo & Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa, both prominent figures of the political world of USA, were defeated as Mamdani won the elections with a 51% majority, significantly altering US’s political landscape
Mamdani is unapologetically proud of his ethnic roots, and his confidence in his heritage is impressive. While many Muslim leaders remained silent and were afraid to raise the slogan of Free Palestine, Mamdani has bravely taken a stand against Gaza genocide, unafraid to champion the cause of freedom and human rights in the face of Zionists.
As leaders of the Islamic world remained silent, Mamdani was the voice for the voiceless , the people of Gaza, the children of Palestine, and the displaced families of the Holy Land of Jerusalem. Without any hesitation Mamdani called Netanyahu, a war criminal. He boldly declared war on Zionists, warning that if any war criminal, including those responsible for atrocities in Gaza, set foot in New York, he would not hesitate to issue an arrest warrant.
His win awoke the Islamophobic many of which are humiliating the Muslim community, trying to make the link between Mamdani & 9/11, well they should know even though Osama Bin Laden was behind the 9/11 but let’s not forget behind every terrorist attack Zionists are the mastermind.
