Fire erupts at CMH Rawalakot, No casualties

RAWALAKOT — A fire broke out late Monday night at the Child Ward and Labor Room of CMH Rawalakot, resulting in partial damage but no injuries. Rescue 1122, the Municipal Corporation fire brigade, district administration, and police swiftly responded to the emergency and successfully brought the fire under control.

Patients in the affected areas were safely transferred to alternate wards. Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Sardar Umar Farooq, personally supervised the rescue and relief operations to ensure the safety of all patients.

Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Raja Faisal Mumtaz, remained in close contact with district authorities throughout the incident, receiving updates on the operation. Officials credited the timely and coordinated response of rescue agencies for preventing major damage. Cooling and restoration work at the hospital is ongoing, with initial reports suggesting a short circuit as the cause of the fire.
