Islamabad: Senior APHC-AJK leader and Chairman J&K People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned the demolition of journalist Arfaz Ahmed’s home in Jammu, terming it a politically motivated action by the occupation authorities to muzzle free and daring voices in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement in Islamabad, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that journalist’s home was demolished without any valid ground, prior notice or provision of alternative shelter to protect his family.
He criticized ultra Hindutva regime in Delhi for bulldozing homes and shops of Muslims, arresting innocent people on flimsy grounds, and creating an environment aimed at depriving Muslim educated youth, government employees, students and businessmen of their livelihoods. Rehmani said these actions, coupled with venomous communal propaganda, reflect the racist policies of the BJP regime. He also said that the so-called rulers of the National Conference had failed to boldly safeguard interests of occupied Jammu and Kashmir as earlier promised by them during their election campaign.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani urged human rights organizations and genuine voices to initiate practical measures against these revengeful policies of the BJP-led Indian government and IIOJK authorities.
