Bagh: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has said that the people of Bagh have revived the political spirit of the state, adding that his government is working day and night to serve the public. Addressing a large public gathering at Pilot High School Ground, he said the government aims to change the system, not faces, and reaffirmed his commitment to fully implementing the agreement reached with the Action Committee.
He said that public demands were also conveyed during his meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, while Bilawal Bhutto remains a strong voice for the Kashmiri people. He added that Field Marshal General Asim Munir’s leadership has elevated Pakistan’s image globally.
Rathore said the cabinet had approved public demands, after which he himself visited the Action Committee, noting that his government carries no ego and that Kashmir’s bond with Pakistan is based on faith. He added that grievances only exist among close relations, and Pakistan has always addressed their concerns.
The prime minister announced that the upper age limit for government jobs has been increased by one year to 41. He also declared Bagh as a big city, upgraded Bagh Hospital to a teaching hospital and announced the establishment of a boys’ university campus in Bagh.
The gathering was attended by former president and prime minister Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, former prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Senior Minister Mian Waheed, ministers Zia-ul-Qamar, Malik Zafar and Nabila Ayub, MPA Prof Taqdees Gillani, Adviser Ahmad Sagheer, former minister Sardar Qamar-ul-Zaman and a large number of PSF, PYO activists, local representatives, political and social leaders and citizens.
Rathore said that Bilawal Bhutto’s slogan “Our voice is the strongest, the vote will decide” represents the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He said circumstances have changed and the PPP has taken responsibility in difficult times. He stressed that the government is backed by public support and that serving the people, even at personal cost, is a matter of pride.
He added that the passion of party workers shows that the future belongs to the PPP and that the current government truly represents workers and the public. The local government system will be strengthened and every step necessary for the state’s progress will be taken.
