PM AJK assures public welfare and reform in legislative assembly speech

Muzaffarabad (PID) – Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, addressed the Legislative Assembly on December 24, 2025, outlining the government’s commitment to public welfare, transparency, and the rule of law. He emphasized that transfers within government departments would be made solely for administrative reasons, rejecting the notion of vindictive transfers and assuring that no one would face injustice under his leadership.
During his address, the Prime Minister acknowledged the challenges faced by the previous government, especially with the issue of extra charges. However, he reassured the assembly that his administration would make transfers based on necessity and would avoid any unjust or retaliatory actions. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to complete the Public Service Commission (PSC) board and vowed to take timely corrective actions whenever administrative shortcomings are identified, aiming to improve public services.
On the issue of traffic in the capital city of Muzaffarabad, Prime Minister Rathore recognized the growing challenge and assured the assembly that a comprehensive strategy would be developed to regulate traffic according to laws and regulations. He also promised to address the concerns raised by former Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider regarding the 1122 services in Jatlan, as well as the issue of alleged false FIRs in Bhimber. He pledged personal attention to these matters to ensure timely resolutions.
Regarding the Health Department, the Prime Minister acknowledged the ongoing issue of ambulances, which had been under review by the Anti-Corruption Court. A committee would be formed to find a practical solution within ten days. He also mentioned that the tender for the Hajira Bypass project had been completed, with work expected to commence shortly.
With these reforms and initiatives, the Prime Minister emphasized that his government is dedicated to improving the lives of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and ensuring that their issues are addressed with urgency and fairness.
