Chairman CDA reviews Shaheen Chowk underpass project

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project late at night and conducted a detailed review of the ongoing construction work, inspecting various sections of the project.

Briefing Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa on the progress achieved so far, the relevant officers informed him that the development work of the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project has successfully entered its final stages ahead of schedule, and overall, more than 95% of the project’s development work has been completed.

Chairman CDA was informed that the structural work of the underpass has been completed, while the finishing work of the project is progressing rapidly. During the briefing, he was apprised that attractive landscaping and horticulture work around the project is being carried out swiftly to beautify it. Similarly, permanent, aesthetically pleasing lights are being installed to enhance the project’s appearance.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress and high quality of the development work, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that alongside the rapid completion of the project’s development work, high standards of quality work have been ensured. He directed that all beautification-related work for the project be expedited and brought to completion before its inauguration.

Chairman CDA said that the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project will provide signal-free facilities to students of adjacent educational institutions and daily commuters. He said that the completion of this project will save citizens both fuel and time.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the completion of this project will reduce traffic pressure in Federal Capital, Islamabad and provide citizens with the best travel facilities. He further added that providing the best travel facilities and modernizing infrastructure for the citizens of Islamabad remains among our top priorities.
