APHC delegation discusses public welfare, Black Day with DC Muzaffarabad

Muzaffarabad — A delegation of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), led by its General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmed Shah, held an important meeting with Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad Munir Qureshi at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
The purpose of the meeting was to congratulate the newly appointed Deputy Commissioner on assuming charge of his office and to promote positive coordination on future institutional and social matters. On the occasion, the Hurriyat delegation extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Munir Qureshi and presented him with a bouquet of flowers as a gesture of goodwill.
The delegation praised the professional capabilities and commitment to public service of the Deputy Commissioner, expressing the hope that his appointment would prove to be a positive and effective development for district administration.
During the meeting, a detailed exchange of views took place on several important issues, including civic welfare and the provision of public services. The delegation also discussed administrative aspects related to the protest programme being organised by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference on January 26, observed as Black Day. The delegation explained that the objective of the Black Day protests is to draw the attention of the international community to grave human rights violations, democratic suppression and political repression being carried out by India in Kashmir.
Deputy Commissioner Munir Qureshi appreciated the visit and the sentiments of goodwill expressed by the delegation, and thanked them for their support. He reaffirmed his commitment to effectively utilising available resources for the welfare of citizens and for improving the performance of the district administration. He also noted that constructive suggestions and consultations from various segments of society play an important role in establishing a healthy, transparent and well-organised social environment.
The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides agreeing to maintain continued contact and promote mutual cooperation.
The delegation included Hurriyat leader Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Zahid Ashraf, Gulshan Ahmed and Mushtaq-ul-Islam.
