Administrative reforms, investment opportunities, and Poonch election preparations discussed at Jammu Kashmir House Islamabad

Islamabad, March 29, 2026: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, held an important meeting with Government Advisor Sardar Fahad Yaqoob at Jammu Kashmir House in Islamabad, where a wide range of governance, economic, and political matters were discussed in detail.

The meeting focused on administrative reforms in the Departments of Industries, Labour, and Printing Press, along with measures to promote industrial development across the state. Both leaders also exchanged views on party affairs and preparations for the upcoming elections in District Poonch.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister stated that the promotion of small, medium, and large-scale industries remains a top priority of the government. He highlighted that practical steps are being taken to boost industrial activity and create new avenues for investment in Azad Kashmir. He further noted that several significant and positive administrative changes have been introduced in the allocation of industrial plots to facilitate investors and business stakeholders.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the government aims to create a conducive environment where investors and young entrepreneurs can thrive, leading to the generation of employment opportunities across the region. He added that strengthening the industrial sector would not only reinforce the economy but also help reduce unemployment.

Encouraging the youth, he urged them to explore opportunities beyond traditional sectors and focus on the digital and modern economy. He pointed out that the global economy is increasingly driven by digital innovation, and by acquiring relevant skills, young people can unlock new pathways for both personal and regional development.

He further stated that the government is implementing a comprehensive policy aimed at equipping youth with skills, expanding business opportunities, and strengthening the industrial base to ensure long-term economic stability in Azad Kashmir. The Prime Minister also noted that the government has set a reasonable minimum wage standard, resulting in improved earnings for workers.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were also held regarding the party’s organizational structure, public outreach campaign, and election preparedness in District Poonch. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of keeping party workers active and maintaining continuous engagement with the public to effectively address their issues.

Sardar Fahad Yaqoob reaffirmed his confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister, expressing optimism that under his guidance, the Pakistan Peoples Party will secure success in the upcoming elections and continue the process of development in the region.
