Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar, who on Thursday appeared before the judicial commission formed to probe the murder of Karachi youth Mir Raza, offered his unconditional apologies to the commission, saying the provincial government had no objections to how investigation in the case was done, reported Country News Digital.
Recording his statement, Lanjar told the commission that the provincial government was with it. “The government will provide complete support to the family members of the deceased youth,” he assured.
He further said that the government was satisfied with the working of the commission.
Justice Umar Sial told the minister that Raza’s family members had many questions in their minds, and they did not trust the system.
Later, the commission’s meeting was adjourned until Monday.
The commission summoned police surgeon Dr. Summaiya, SHO Ferozeabad and the head muharrar.
On the other hand, Registrar Commission Abdul Majid said that he had receiving eyewitnesses’ accounts.
He informed that he had received five e-mails and WhatsApp messages in this regard.
Elaborating further, he said that one of the citizens provided information about digital footprints, which would be shared with the investigation team. “Another citizen has pointed out the presence of a suspicious person,” he said, adding that another person had said that he could assist the investigators in connection with the deceased’s digital accounts.
Later speaking after recording his statement, Lanjar said that he had been summoned by the commission because of a misunderstanding.
He said that the investigation in the case would be in line with the decision, which would be taken by the commission.
The minister said he had told the commission to point out those responsible for Raza’s death so that action could be taken against them. “The government will assist the commission in every possible way,” he assured.
