Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s limited-overs captain Babar Azam is eager to lead the national side for the very first time in ODI cricket.

The 25-year-old Babar, who was appointed captain of ODI cricket in May 2020, feels lucky to lead Pakistan at home.

“Big names didn’t lead on the grounds of Pakistan for almost 10-11 years. I am very lucky to lead Pakistan and it’s a huge honor for me,” said Babar.

Babar emphasized the importance of the Zimbabwe series as it will be part of the recently launched ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.

“It is not just important to win the series but it is also important to win with greater points and qualify for the ICC World Cup 2023,” he added.

It must be noted that Zimbabwe is scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is in Pakistan. The ODIs will be played at the Pindi cricket stadium on October 30, November 1 and 3, followed by three T20Is at the Gaddafi stadium on November 7, 8 and 10.
