The children of Kate Middleton and Prince William, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte, are said to have begun using their new last names when their father received a new title following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
The three young royals, who were previously known as the Cambridges due to their parents’ titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, received new last names after their titles were changed following the Queen’s death, according to Fox News.
On September 19, 2022, at the Queen’s funeral service at Westminster Abbey, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were both referred to by their new last names, becoming Prince George of Wales and Princess Charlotte of Wales, respectively.
Their new school, Lambrook, which is close to Adelaide Cottage, where they are moving, is also anticipated to change their names.
Kate will be the first Princess of Wales since William’s late mother, Princess Diana, following the announcement made by the new British monarch, King Charles III, in his first address as King on September 9, 2022, that his son Prince William will henceforth be recognised as the Prince of Wales.
Prince William is now the first in line to the following Charles’ ascension, with his children following in positions two, three, and four.
