Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhary Anwar-ul-Haq, his government is dedicated to good governance and his commitment to the well-being of the people. He expressed gratitude for the accomplishments achieved so far, attributing them to the grace of a higher power.

Addressing the intricacies of political engagements, PM AJK Anwar-ul-Haq underscored the significance of utilizing personal capabilities while adhering to party discipline. He emphasized that compromise is sometimes inevitable in politics, but asserted that at his current position, he faces no external pressure.

Reflecting on his political journey, the Prime Minister shared insights into his experiences with various political parties, noting his unique perspective derived from involvement with the Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

Discussing his initial challenges upon assuming office, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq recounted facing opposition from influential mafias, including the cigarette, timber, and food industries. Despite these challenges, he highlighted the support he received from stakeholders upon being elected.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the need for significant governance reforms and revealed his efforts to streamline the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, significantly reducing expenditures. He also spoke about his focus on social reform, starting from self-accountability and ending excessive protocols.

Responding to questions on corruption allegations related to the Rawalpindi Ring Road project, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq clarified that the project’s completion had been hindered by corruption issues. However, he assured that steps were being taken to address these concerns, with plans to award contracts to FWO and NLC in mid-January for the project’s completion.

In the context of his preferred lifestyle, the Prime Minister expressed a preference for simplicity, distancing himself from excessive protocols. He emphasized that decisions are bolder when driven by a conscience unafraid of accountability.

Touching upon regional issues, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq praised the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the establishment for their robust response to the Indian Supreme Court’s decision, affirming the commitment to addressing the demands of the People’s Action Committee and renewing efforts for the freedom movement in Azad Kashmir.
