The review meeting of the Department of Local Government and Rural Development Annual Development Program 2022-23 was held at Jammu and Kashmir House Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.
During the meeting, instructions were issued to prepare a work plan to spend the annual development fund and submit it to the Prime Minister. A committee consisting of Principal Secretary, Law Secretary and Local Government Secretary was formed for the immediate amendment of the sub-rules under the Act and review of the manual rules and making recommendations and reviewing the legal status of the Coordination Council and making recommendations.
Secretary Local Government briefed the Prime Minister on the prevailing procedure for creation, inclusion and approval of terms in the Annual Development Program.
The Prime Minister considered the legal aspects regarding the Coordinating Council for Rural Development and expressed reservations about the non-amendment of the sub-rules.
The Prime Minister of AJK stressed the importance of ensuring 100% utilization of the development fund and timely completion of projects with transparency. He emphasized the need to propose plans that prioritize public needs and for physical audits of development projects to ensure their effectiveness on the ground.
Abdul Majid Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Akbar Ibrahim Javed Ahmad Butt, Sardar Akmal Sargala, Secretary Local Government and Rural Development Syed Shahid Mohiuddin Qadri, Chief (Rural Development) Planning and Development Department Syed Abrar Haider Gurdizi, Chief (Planning and Monitoring) Local Government and Rural Development Muhammad Masood were also present.
