Muzaffarabad: A delegation from Jhelum Valley, led by Senior Vice President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Jammu and Kashmir and former Legislative Assembly candidate Sahibzada Muhammad Ashfaq Zafar, met with Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, to discuss pressing local issues.
During the meeting, the delegation raised concerns regarding the allocation of land for a university campus in Jhelum Valley and briefed the Prime Minister on challenges faced by the Model Science College and other development projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Rathore assured that the PPP government is committed to addressing historical grievances and would utilize all available resources to overcome past neglect. He emphasized that the government is working tirelessly to rebuild public trust after years of disillusionment, and although the administration has been in office for only a few weeks, the impact of its policies is already visible across Azad Kashmir.
“The state of uncertainty has ended. We aim to deliver significant results in a short period and address the deprivation faced by our people,” he added. “The PPP government is working beyond political lines to serve the public.”
Earlier, the delegation highlighted that Jhelum Valley constituency has suffered neglect for the past two decades and stressed the urgent need for prioritized solutions to overcome its developmental challenges. The delegation also extended an invitation to the Prime Minister for an on-site visit, which he accepted. PM Faisal Mumtaz Rathore is scheduled to visit Jhelum Valley on January 21.
