Muzaffarabad: Asim Hussain Awan, a resident of Tariqabad in Azad Kashmir, has brought honor to the region by securing the third position in the “Karate and Friendship” event in Iran. Asim Hussain Awan, representing Pakistan, clinched the prestigious third position in the competition, which took place in Zaidan, Iran, in August 2023. He competed in the 60-kilogram category of martial arts competitions organized by the Sports Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and AJK Bank, showing exceptional skills and determination.
In a formal ceremony held to celebrate his achievement, Midhat Shehzad, the Secretary of Sports, Youth, and Culture, expressed her admiration for Asim’s accomplishment and praised his outstanding sportsmanship. Asim Hussain Awan’s remarkable performance has earned Pakistan a bronze medal in the series of events, enhancing the region’s reputation in the field of martial arts.
