Muzaffarabad: “It is the need of the hour that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir should adopt agriculture to make the state self-reliant in food”.
This was said by the speakers at a seminar, which was held under the auspices of a NGO, Sehar Foundation in collaboration with Agriculture Department, AJK. The topic of the seminar was ‘the importance of agriculture in the recent era”.
On the occasion Director Agriculture Sardar Zareen Khan said that the farmers may fulfil their responsibility. The government of AJK is working on the development of agriculture in cooperation with the private sector.
He said that the purpose of holding the seminar is to create awareness about the significance of Agriculture among the masses.
The Chairman of Sehar Foundation Raja Waseem Khan said that due to extreme price hike, it has become the need of the time that every person may attach his relationship with the land and old profession of agriculture.
Deputy Director Agriculture Raja Zaheer Iqbal and In-charge of Agriculture Section in Sehar Foundation Ansar Ali Naqvi also spoke on the occasion.
