Apple to launch its first augmented, virtual reality devices soon
Apple has amped up its developments for the device in recent months
Premier technology company Apple Inc is expected to launch its augmented and virtual reality headsets soon after a demo of the product was shown to the company’s board of directors.
According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple has amped up its developments for the device in recent months, pushing for an earlier launch rather than the previously expected plan for 2023.
Apple had been working on augmented reality versions of core iPhone apps to use on the new headset, along with other apps which will handle immersive content streaming and virtual meetings.
The device is expected to be bulky and expensive with high-resolution displays, a powerful chip, and advanced sensors. Some previous reports have predicted that the device will cost above $1000.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that future versions of the headset are already in development, with the company aiming to create a pair of lightweight augmented reality glasses. Speculations predict the launch to be on Apple’s WWDC keynote on June 6, with a sneak peek of the upcoming device.
