Govt should do negotiations with young doctors: Ch Latif Akbar

Bureau Report

MUZAFFARABAD: Instead of using force against young doctors, the incumbent government of PML-N in Azad Jammu and Kashmir should do negotiations with them to resolve their issues, said the President PPP AJK, Chaudhry Latif Akbar here on Friday. He expressed this while addressing a press conference in Muzaffarabad.

He strictly condemned the violence of police against the young doctors and said that government is responsible for all the brutalities which the young doctors faced. Government should not make AJK a police state. The services of doctors in current time when the coronavirus has badly shaken the world cannot be neglected. Their services when the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) has been deteriorated are remarkable. Instead of hailing their services, the government used power against them, he added.

While commenting on Kohala project, he said that shifting two rivers through a tunnel is basically a revenge from Muzaffarabad. The direction of the river Jehlum should not be changed. Instead, small dams should be constructed on this river between Kohala and Chakothi. PPP AJK is ready to give donations for this purpose, he added.

Chaudhry Latif Akbar categorically mentioned that PPP AJK is not against the power project, but the design of the project is not acceptable.
