Azam Swati video: SC’s human rights division is looking into claims that CJP Bandial advised a PTI senator to ”be strong”

On Monday, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial stated that the objectionable video depicting Senator Azam Swati and his wife was being investigated by the Supreme Court’s (SC) human rights cell. According to the PTI leader, the video was sent to him and is from his time spent staying at the apex court’s judicial lodges in Quetta.
In front of the media on Saturday, Swati sobbed and said that his wife had received a video displaying them both and that he was unable to disclose any further information because the “daughters of my country are listening.” The senator said that the interior minister and two military officers had plotted to have him killed and demanded that they be held responsible if it did.
He claimed that his daughter had informed him that the video was from a trip to Quetta that Swati and his wife had taken. The senator recalled the trip and explained that Senate Chairperson Sadiq Sanjrani had arranged for their lodging at the Supreme Court’s judicial dormitories in Quetta.
Widespread criticism of the development came from all political perspectives. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif then gave the interior ministry an order to pay attention to the situation.
In response, the SC said that Swati had “never used or remained in Supreme Court Judges Rest House at Quetta,” according to a statement made yesterday.
The CJP mentioned that the top court’s HR Cell had taken up Swati’s case at today’s hearing of a contempt complaint against PTI chairman Imran Khan, explaining that the SC will interfere if necessary.
The chief justice said, “But you never remained at the Supreme Court’s rest home.” Your request is being considered, and the situation will be handled legally.
Swati said that he could only show the film to the judges of the supreme court.
“Swati sahab, may God give you patience,” CJP Bandial added. “We are instructing Pemra (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) and PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) to remove the claimed video.”
However, the senator argued that it was possible that the video supplied to him was different from the one that was making the rounds online.
Swati was urged to maintain her composure by Justice Bandial, who remarked, “For now, let the HR Cell see the situation let it mature until the material comes “. “We don’t know how many and who your adversaries are.

SC requests a report on the murder of Arshad Sharif
Separately, Justice Bandial stated that the court had begun hearing the mother of journalist Arshad Sharif’s case after he was slain in Kenya last month.
He said, “We are calling for a report from the committee that had travelled to Kenya for an investigation.
Sharif’s mother asked the CJP to form a judicial committee made up of senior Supreme Court judges in a letter to the SC last week in order to ascertain the true reason for and identify the perpetrators of her son’s murder.
Shaheed Arshad Sharif’s mother, Riffat Ara Alvi, wrote in the two-page letter that “the only thing that can put an end to the pain of Shaheed Arshad Sharif’s family and his journalist fraternity will be discovering the genuine reason and perpetrators and putting them to justice.”
She also expressed confidence that her letter would receive adequate attention given the gravity of the matter and not be ignored as her son’s earlier letter he submitted to the authorities telling them about the threats to his life. “Otherwise, I will rest my case to Allah awaiting His justice,” she stated.
