Islamabad: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has said that the Kashmiris living in the UK have an important role in keeping the Kashmir issue alive at international forums.
He expressed these views during a detailed meeting with Senior Advisor of Kashmir Peace Forum International USA, UK and Europe, Chaudhry Shaaban and President of Kashmir Peace Forum International Midland,Chaudhry Khadim Hussain.
He said that by following the footsteps of APHC’s leadership, it is the duty of every Kashmiri throughout the world to raise the voice on Kashmir issue to keep it alive everywhere. Overseas Kashmiris have more responsibility on their shoulders in this regard.
“On May 22, demonstrations were held in more than 20 cities of the UK against the holding of the G-20 conference in Srinagar, so it is the responsibility of the overseas Kashmiris to play their role in raising the Kashmir issue. Similarly, Britain also has the responsibility to play its role in solving the Kashmir problem because the Kashmir problem arose when Britain left the region after ending its two hundred years of rule in the subcontinent”, the President AJK added.
Barrister Sultan said that the Kashmir issue entered into a critical phase, from which the independence of Kashmir from the Indian occupation is not far away .
On this occasion, Chaudhry Shaaban, and Chaudhry Khadim Hussain, invited the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry to visit the UK.
