ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project along with Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza and relevant officers. Chairman CDA inspected the ongoing construction activities across different sections of the project.
During the briefing on the progress of the project’s construction work, the relevant officers informed Chairman CDA that 80% of the barrel wall work for the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project has been completed. It was further briefed that 60% of the wall work for Ramp One, included in this project, has also been completed. Additionally, 100% of the project’s barrel girder work has been finished.
Chairman CDA was briefed that the earthwork and roadwork for the Shaheen Chowk project are also progressing rapidly, and work on the walls for Ramp Two has also commenced. He was further apprised that construction activities are ongoing 24/7 to ensure the project’s timely completion.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved so far in the construction work of the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project. He directed that high-quality standards for the construction work must be ensured under all circumstances.
Chairman CDA said that all construction work for the project must be completed according to its schedule and timelines. He directed that working should also be done on aesthetically pleasing landscaping, digital boards and LED lights to enhance the project’s beautification.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project will prove to be a significant milestone in resolving traffic issues in Islamabad. He said that this project will provide signal free travel facilities for daily commuters and the students from the educational institution in the adjoining areas while reducing traffic congestion. Chairman CDA directed the Project Director and Resident Engineers to ensure the highest quality standards by effectively monitoring all ongoing construction activities on the project.
