Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Sardar Faisal Amin Gandapur and Secretary LG Syed Zaheerul Islam Shah were given a grand reception by the project employees of Community Driven Local Development (CDLD) program on their regularisation at local hotel in Peshawar. The function besides other high ups of Local Government department was also participated by the Project Coordinator and Special Secretary LG Irfanullah Khan, Director General LG Usman Mehsud, Admin and Finance Officer of the project Khan Ayaz and Secretary Delimitation & Elections Sajid Gul.
It may be recalled that this development project worth Rs 12 billion was started in 2013 with the financial support of the European Union as it completed 7400 development schemes with the participation of local communities in 13 northern districts of the province including Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Dir Lower, Dir upper, Chitral lower, Chitral upper, then Buner, Nowshera, Swabi, Haripur, Batagram and Torghar, so far. The schemes included pavement of streets, drainage, water supply, irrigation, solar energy and construction of rooms in educational and health centers. Henceforth examples of the sustainability of these community schemes ranging between Rs.3 to 35 lakh are given. Based on the good performance of about 300 project employees, all of them have now been regularized under formal legislation.
The Local Government Minister and the Secretary LG while congratulating all the 298 project officers and subordinates, said that they all have been regularized on basis of the good feedback from the concerned district administration at Camovers from Calgary and community while all the credit of regularizing them gone to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan whose special instructions, prompted to the Act of their regularisation approved by the Provincial Assembly.
They said the present KP government is following the policy of reward and punishment under which employees who perform well are encouraged in every best way. They hoped that all these employees will now onwards perform their duties more diligently and set high standards of public service as an example for other government employees. They said that corruption is social evil and the government employees will fully cooperate with the KP government in eradicating all such evils from the province while speeding up the process of human welfare and development in all spheres of life. The
CDLD employees reiterated their determination to accelerate the development speed by working round the clock. They raised their hands and assured the successful implementation of the development and people-friendly policies of the provincial government and thanked the Chief Minister and the provincial government for their regularisation of services.
