ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project along with Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza and Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz. He inspected the ongoing construction work across different sections of the project.
On this occasion, the relevant officers briefed Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa on the progress of the construction work. They briefed him that the excavation work for the underpass has been completed, and work on concrete pouring, piling, earthwork and steel fixing for the underpass is also progressing rapidly. Chairman CDA was apprised that construction activities are ongoing 24/7 to ensure the project’s timely completion.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa expressed satisfaction regarding the construction work completed so far on the Shaheen Chowk project. On this occasion, he directed that the high quality and standards of construction work must be maintained at all costs. He directed that all construction work on the project must be completed according to its schedule and timelines while maintaining high quality.
Chairman CDA directed that a plan for aesthetically pleasing landscaping, environmentally friendly plantation and permanent installation of LED lights be presented to ensure the project’s beautification. He said that the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project would prove to be a major milestone in resolving traffic issues in Islamabad.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said this project would provide comfortable travel facilities to daily commuters by reducing traffic pressure. He added that upon completion, students of educational institutions in the adjoining areas would also benefit from excellent travel facilities. He further instructed the Project Director and Resident Engineers to ensure high standards and quality in all construction activities through effective monitoring.
