 Chairman TEVTA AJK visits Gems & Jewelry Tainting Institute

Muzaffarabad: Chairman of Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), AJK Razaq Ahmed Nadeem, visited the Gems and Jewelry Training and Processing Center.

The Director of the center gave a detailed briefing to the Chairman regarding various departments of the institution, including gemstone faceting, gemstone carving, gemology, fashion jewelry making, computerized accounting trades, and other related matters.

On the occasion, the Chairman of TEVTA said that Azad Kashmir is a rich region in mineral resources, and until the state would have skilled manpower. It  cannot utilize these resources effectively.

The Chairman gave instructions to the Director of the center to take advantage of the potential of the trades prevalent in the region and should play a significant role in poverty alleviation and regional development.

He said that it was decided by the TEVTA that the technical institutions in Azad Kashmir, which were previously affiliated with different boards, will now be brought under the jurisdiction of –TEVTA AJK ‘s Board of Technical Education.

The chairman said that the Gems and Jewelry-related products would be displayed in the stalls set up by TEVTA AJK at the Chakothi military check post under the supervision of the Pakistan Army. Furthermore, an awareness campaign would be launched about products of Gems and Jewelry in, print, electronic, and digital media.
