Elections not alternative for the internationally recognized right to self-determination for IIOJK: Sultan Butt
Islamabad: Insaf party vice chairman and APHC AJK chapter leader Muhammad Sultan Bhat in a statement has said that elections in the presence of over one million Indian troops are nothing but a military exercise. He said that India has deployed additional forces and intensified its crackdown against Kashmiris and has created an atmosphere of fear and terror to get desired results and ensure the success of proxy candidates of BJP, and RSS.
While categorically rejecting farcical polls M.Sultan said that it is an effort to hoodwink the world opinion about the ground situation and camouflage its crimes in the disputed region. Indian tall claims of normalcy and development is a hoax. He asked the freedom-loving Kashmiris to stay away from this poll drama and warned Indian proxies not to betray their nation.
Muhammad Sultan expressed serious concern over the increase in state terrorism especially random arrests, fake encounters, killing, cordon and search portions, and sealing of properties on different pretexts. Destruction of houses, confiscation of properties, land grabbing, and other oppressive methods are aimed to deprive Kashmiris of their lands and force them into submission.
The Hindutva regime led by Modi is hellbent on imposing its supremacist ideology on Kashmiris by hook or crook. It has declared a full-fledged war on hapless Kashmiris and deprived them of all basic rights mentioned in the UN human rights charter. Killing of innocent, arrest, torture, molestation of women, and other crimes have become the order of the day. There are a lot of similarities between Zionist and Hindutva policies. The way the Zionist apartheid regime led by Netanyahu is trampling on humanity in Palestine Hindutva forces led by Modi are following the same pattern. M.Sultan expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s army chief’s statement in which he assured Kashmiris that they are not alone but Pakistan stands with them.
He said that Pakistan is the only hope for Kashmiris and its support is not only a source of strength and encouragement but it further solidifies the historical bonds between the two. He also thanked OIC for its support of the legitimate freedom struggle. He expressed hope that OIC will take practical steps for resolutions of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiris. M. Sultan condemned the criminal silence of the international community especially big powers over the plight of Kashmiris and impressed upon them to shun the duplicity and find a just and durable solution of Kashmir dispute.
