Emomali Rahmon, the president of Tajikistan, has arrived in Pakistan on a two-day official visit at the request of Shehbaz Sharif, according to Geo News on Wednesday.
At the airport in Islamabad, the president was greeted by the minister of commerce, Naveed Qamar.
Two kids dressed in traditional costume gave President Emomali bouquets.
In a statement, the Foreign Office stated that the two parties would discuss how to further improve their bilateral cooperation in a variety of areas.

Numerous Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and bilateral agreements are anticipated to be inked during the visit.
“The Tajik President’s visit to Pakistan is expected to impart a renewed impetus to deepening collaboration between the two countries in varied domains and further consolidate the burgeoning geo-economic alliance,” the statement said.
Due to their shared religious, cultural, and historical heritage, Pakistan and Tajikistan are close-knit nations. Mutual regard and extraordinary warmth characterise these ties. On a number of domestic and international problems, the two nations have similar viewpoints.
The confined Wakhan Corridor divides Tajikistan, Pakistan’s nearest neighbour in Central Asia. Tajikistan is a significant partner of Pakistan in Central Asia due to its proximity.

The president of Tajikistan will meet with PM Shehbaz again this year.
When the Pakistani prime visited Uzbekistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in September of this year, the two leaders last spoke.
The two leaders discussed a wide range of topics during their most recent encounter, including regional and global concerns as well as all facets of bilateral cooperation that could be mutually advantageous.
The prime minister praised Tajikistan for helping Pakistani flood victims and described the destruction brought on by the enormous floods brought on by climate change.
PM Shehbaz further emphasised the significance of routine conferences regarding bilateral institutional frameworks and the development of mutually advantageous collaboration in the execution of energy projects.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to finishing the significant “CASA-1000” power transmission project on schedule.
Visit two years later
In addition to the meeting between the two leaders, this will be the president of Tajikistan’s second trip to Pakistan in the last two years.
He last visited Islamabad in June 2021, during Imran Khan’s administration.
12 agreements for cooperation in a range of areas, including commerce, anti-corruption, infrastructure, education, and culture, were signed during the visit between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
