MUZAFFARABAD: Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the elements involved in illegal production of cigarette in Muzaffarabad here on Tuesday.
According to detail, FIA lodged FIR at police station Sheikhupura in which it is claimed that National Tobacco is a registered company. This company has two brands including Kissan and Classic. The company reserved the copy rights of both the brands. But, Raja Babar Taj, Raja Muhammad Amjid, and Raja Abbas Khan are doing production of substandard and illegal cigarettes due to which the reputation of the company is being disturbed badly. The sale of these cigarettes is putting bad impacts on the health of smokers. The sale of these illegal cigarettes is also damaging the national exchequer. These cigarettes are being sold in the packing similar to the original brand. Strict action against the elements involved in this business demanded in FIR.
The issue was firstly raised by the civil society of Muzaffarabad.
