Government of mafias

0 5

Punjab government has decided to put a ban on the plastic shopper bags from 5th June. But here raises a main question: will the provincial government be successful in implementation of this decision as in the short span of only two months the Punjab government failed to implement its several verdicts.

The fresh example of failure of the Punjab government was the decision to reduce the price of roti in the province that was taken before Eid but it was not implemented yet. As a matter of fact, in the very early days after making the government, the Punjab government has lost credibility among the people as it failed to implement its decisions. Earlier the provincial government took the decision to conduct an audit of the private educational institutes but the most powerful Chief Minister of the province, who is also the niece of sitting Prime Minister, seemed quite helpless in front of the private school’s mafia and thus the decision was never implemented.

In the past the previous government of PTI also made an effort to put a ban on plastic shopper bags, but at that time the traders came out against the government and the move of the government went to waste.

Actually the different mafias have become so strong due to political backing that they stop every government from going against them. Actually these mafias pay heavy bribes on a monthly basis to corrupt local political workers of the ruling party as a long term investment, who convey share to the high authorities and in return the mafia get undue gains from the government. When the politicians get unwarranted benefits from these mafias, then how can the government take action against them? This is the very reason that the government has left the common man on the mercy of different mafias and cartels who are sucking the blood of the people just like leeches without any check and balance.

If the Punjab government wants to make a good image among the people it has to eliminate corruption from top to bottom in the political parties, which are allied partners in the government. In reality these mafias control the governments by blackmailing the political leaders. If the government announces any measure to favour the people, these mafias come in front and force the government to withdraw the decision because if the common man would get advantage, the mafias will go into loss, which is intolerable for them.

If the current government really wants to serve the people in true sense then the most important task for the government would be to take action against these mafias which are minting money by plundering the people with both hands in connivance with the political elements, but this task looks almost impossible as the corrupt political leader protect their personal interests in befitting manner.

Now when the Punjab government will try to implement a decision regarding the ban on plastic bags, the mafias, which is attached to the shopper bags industry in collaboration with the traders, will come out once again and force the government to either take back the decision or postpone it for some months.

It is the sad tale of Pakistan that right from the beginning,  the touts and puppets of mafias had been the part and parcels in the different governments and they took steps to benefit their masters due to which, the problems of the common man have increased manifold in the past.
