Higher Education Department Signs MoU with Federal Ministry to Improve Examination System

Islamabad: The Higher Education Department of the Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training to introduce innovation, transparency, and improvement in the examination system in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The agreement focuses on enhancing transparency and efficiency in examinations, capacity building, alignment of the examination system with modern technology, and promotion of merit. The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Islamabad. The agreement was signed by Secretary Higher Education Azad Kashmir, Ms. Tehzeeb-un-Nisa, and Senior Joint Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training, Aftab Rasheed.

The ceremony was attended by Additional Secretary Higher Education Azad Kashmir Raja Shahid Hussain, Chairman Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chairman Mirpur Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir, and other officials.

It is pertinent to mention that under an agreement reached with the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, the committee had demanded formal collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training to improve transparency and quality in the education and examination system. In line with this demand, the Azad Kashmir government has fulfilled its commitment by signing a formal MoU with the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training.

The agreement is expected to play a significant role in modernising the examination system, strengthening institutional capacity, and ensuring transparency and merit-based assessment in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
