Islamabad: Pakistan has witnessed a historic and strategic breakthrough in its energy sector as China’s globally renowned energy technology group, Famlink Power, officially launched its operations in the country and announced a substantial investment. On the occasion, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce and Member of the National Assembly, stated that this investment would prove to be a game-changer for Pakistan’s energy sector, adding that the government is committed to providing every possible facilitation to Chinese investors. Under Famlink Power’s advanced projects, eco-friendly and long-lasting lithium batteries, solar energy storage systems, and power backup solutions have been introduced. These initiatives aim to store electricity generated from solar and wind sources, tackling long-standing issues such as load-shedding, energy wastage, and instability. Experts believe that this technology will not only reduce Pakistan’s dependence on imported fuel but also play a key role in lowering greenhouse gas emissions, boosting industrial productivity, and providing affordable and reliable alternative energy solutions. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Famlink Power CEO Mr. Jacob, Managing Director Mr. Li, and GM Pakistan, Ameer Ahmed. Speaking at the event, CEO Mr. Li emphasized that through investment in Pakistan, they aim to transfer advanced technology and position the country as a regional leader. He highlighted the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two nations, noting Pakistan’s rapidly growing market and expressing a desire for long-term partnership. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti further remarked that the government has established Special Investment Zones in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and other cities, offering investors a ten-year income tax exemption and customs duty relief on new machinery imports. He noted that the Board of Investment, through its one-window operation, is providing comprehensive facilitation. Dr. Bhatti also described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as an unprecedented project between the two countries, stating that investments of this nature are transforming Pakistan’s economic and energy landscape.
The ceremony concluded with the signing of memoranda of understanding between various local groups and Chinese companies, marking a significant milestone toward an eco-friendly, stable, and sustainable future for Pakistan’s energy sector.
