Islamabad slaughterhouse project reviewed at CDA meeting

ISLAMABAD: A meeting regarding the Islamabad Slaughterhouse Project was held at the CDA Headquarters on Thursday, chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by CDA Board Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning and Design, Dr. Khalid Hafiz, DG Resources Shakeel Ahmed, DG Works, consultants and other senior officers.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of the Islamabad Slaughterhouse Project. While briefing the meeting, it was informed that the Islamabad Slaughterhouse Project will be constructed under the Public-Private Partnership model. It will ensure the provision of modern and state-of-the-art facilities. It was further informed that under this project, facilities such as a modern abattoir and chilling rooms will be provided. All facilities of the Islamabad Slaughterhouse will be available under a service model. Similarly, a commercial area and an area for animal trading have also been allocated in the Slaughterhouse. The financial model of the Islamabad Slaughterhouse was also considered in the meeting.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that the design and model of this project be presented before the CDA Board and the Meat Board. He said that the completion of the project will help meet the meat requirements of the residents of the twin cities and also assist in exporting meat to international markets.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa further said that all resources are being utilized to provide the best possible facilities to the citizens of the Federal Capital, Islamabad.
