Kashmir house event honors key human rights advocates

Islamabad: A prestigious award ceremony organized by the International Human Rights Movement was held at Kashmir House, where distinguished individuals from different walks of life were honored in recognition of their services to human rights and social welfare.
The event was attended by Chairman National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence Sardar Fatehullah Khan, Member of National Assembly Dr. Shaista Jadoon, Former President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan, AJK Minister Nabeela Ayoub, and senior Pakistan مسلم League (N) leader Brigadier Muhammad Khan, who participated as special guests.
In their addresses, the dignitaries congratulated the award nominees and appreciated the efforts of the International Human Rights Movement for promoting human rights and working to prevent violations. Chairman Defence Committee Sardar Fatehullah Khan stated that the Government of Pakistan is taking effective measures to protect human rights, while parliamentary committees including the Human Rights Committee, Kashmir Committee, and Defence Committee are playing their due roles within their respective mandates.
Police officers, human rights activists, senior journalists, administrative officials, and individuals from various professional backgrounds attended the ceremony.
Among the award recipients were former President of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists Tariq Ali Virk , DSP Punjab Police Shahida Yasmeen, Islamabad Police officers Inspector Maryam Nasir (SHO Online Women Police Station) and Inspector Samina Sarwar, senior journalist and Editor Kashmir Express Shamim Ashraf, Shakeela Jalil, General Secretary RIUJ Raja Bashir Usmani, Tasneem Shaukat, Sardar Owais, Asma Butt (President All Pakistan Chinese Youth Association), Nasira Khan (General Secretary PML-N Women Wing), Syeda Sameera Gilani, Raja Zulfiqar Ishaq, Mukhtiar Awan (District Social Welfare Officer Muzaffarabad), Inspector Raja Aftab Ahmed Khan (AJK Police), Raji Asghar Khan, Khakan Qazi (Inspector Arja), Head Constables Kausar Bibi and Zahida Mir, Hurriyat leader Dr. Khalid Javed, Kiran Khan, Dr. Farzana (Advocate), Rukhsana Noor, Kiran Ghaffar, transgender activist Bubbly Malik, and Deputy Director Services Ghaffar Qureshi, among others.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the event’s Chief Organizer Raja Samad Muavia was presented with an honorary shield by Chairman Defence Committee Sardar Fatehullah Khan and former AJK President Sardar Masood Ahmed Khan.
The ceremony was described as an important effort to recognize individuals playing a positive role in society and promoting human rights.
