Kashmiri seeks Human Rights on International HR day

Muzaffarabad: On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, a large protest rally was held against Indian atrocities and Human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) organized by Pasban-e Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir and International Forum for Justice and Human Rights.

Hundreds of citizens participated in the demonstration, shouting slogans against the Indian government and its forces.

Protestors were shouting slogans in favor of Kashmiri and Palestinian people, waved black flags, carried banners and placards inscribed Anti-India and pro freedom slogans. They also marched from Sathra Mor to Gharipan Chowk.

While addressing the rally, speakers said that India has illegally Occupied Kashmir for the past 74 years and is committing the worst violations of human rights since then.

They voiced that Indian government has martyred more than 100,000 citizens in Jammu and Kashmir only in last 33 years.

Speakers said that the Indian Army is martyring Kashmiri youths in fake military encounters for the sake of promotion and reward.

“Indian soldiers abducted 11 thousand citizens from their homes, who were martyred in torture camps and buried in mass graves in the past 3 decades”, they lamented.

Speakers said that Indian forces have killed thousands of innocent civilians in Bij Behara, Srinagar, Kupwara, Handwara and other places of IIOJ&K.

They further said that the Indian Army has been attacking Kashmiri youngsters with pellet guns to defeat the resistance movement.

“Even today, thousands of Kashmiris, including women, children and the elderly, are locked up in Indian jails for demanding freedom and rights.”

They expressed regret and said that the world is playing the role of a silent spectator against Indian state terrorism.

The speakers described the Israeli brutality in Palestine and Gaza as a failure, saying that the martyrdom of 18 thousand citizens in Gaza in 63 days is a slap on the face of the so-called human rights institutions.

Speakers said that Narendra Modi and Netanyahu have killed thousands of civilians in Kashmir and Palestine, and they should be brought to the dock of the International Court of Justice.

Demonstrators demanded the implementation of UNSC resolutions on Kashmir for provision of Human rights to the people living in IIOJ&K and also demanded immediate ceasefire in Palestine.

Rally was led by Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Vice Chairman International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Usman Ali Hashim, Syed Saleem Shah, Shaukat Javed Mir, Bilal Ahmed Farooqui, Mehnaz Qureshi, Tahira Javed, Irsa Ibrahim, Humaira Altaf and others.
