Meghan Markle has been outspoken about the unfair treatment she has received from the media; most recently, Jeremy Clarkson’s criticism has confirmed her claims.
The media personality wrote on Friday that he “hates” the Duchess of Sussex in his column for The Sun.
He wrote, “Meghan is… a different story. “My entire being resents her. I can’t sleep at night because I’m clenching my teeth and daydreaming about the time when she will be forced to go through the streets of every town in Britain in public as people yell, “Shame!” and hurl faeces at her.
In an article for WA Today, Samantha Selinger-Morris said that Jeremy’s comments supported the couple’s long-held claim that Meghan’s treatment by the international media had been particularly cruel and racist.
In the pair’s infamous 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, they claimed that unnamed members of the royal family had expressed concern about how dark the skin of their child Archie would be. She continued, “The press coverage she has arguably received has become increasingly hateful ever since the pair’s interview,” she said.
