Mirpur: Azad Jammu and Kashmir most senior minister, Colonel (R) Waqar Ahmad Noor, stated that Mirpur district is an important district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized the pivotal role of Mirpur district council in collaborating with other institutions to harmonize the district with modern and aesthetic demands.
He highlighted the need for enhancing the beauty and modern amenities of Mirpur city and mentioned the potential for tourism development around Mangla Lake, which holds vast opportunities for tourism growth. The development of tourism in Mangla Lake and its vicinity would provide recreational facilities for tourists. He further mentioned that Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, envisions comprehensive development in the region, leading to economic prosperity and contentment among the people.
He expresses these views during his visit to Mirpur district council.
He further said that the government has taken significant steps to eradicate corruption, mismanagement, and nepotism from the region, aiming to transform the current administration into an effective and efficient state. Financial discipline will be strictly enforced in the District Council by implementing a 70% tax rate and ensuring the punctuality of employees in government offices. These essential measures have already brought improvements to various sectors in the region.
“To transform the region into a model state, the Prime Minister and government ministers are united in utilizing legal means to implement reforms, emphasizing a servant leadership approach to benefit society through non-discriminatory government improvements”. He concluded.
