Donald Trump, a former US president, hinted on Monday that he would run for president in 2024 as soon as next week. He said at a political rally in Ohio on Monday that he would make a “major announcement” on November 15.
At a rally in favour of Republican US Senate candidate JD Vance ahead of the midterm elections, Trump told fans, “I’m going to be making a very major announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.”
As he did not want to “detract from tomorrow’s very crucial, even critical election,” the former president declined to go into further detail.
Tuesday’s elections in the United States have the potential to give the Republican Party control of one or both chambers of Congress.
Republicans are predicted by nonpartisan election predictors to gain around 25 seats in the 435-seat House of Representatives, which would be more than enough to capture a majority. Analysts predicted that Republicans might also gain the final seat necessary to take control of the Senate.
Following a speech in which he attacked President Joe Biden and declared that the United States was a “country in decline” under his leadership, Donald Trump declared that he would seek for the White House again.
“No longer respected or taken seriously internationally, we are a nation. In many ways, we have devolved into an absurd country.”
Earlier on Monday, Biden issued a warning that the democratic structures of the nation would be weakened by a Republican victory.
“A turning point is present for us right now. Our democracy is under danger, and you have the opportunity to protect it now, we know it in our bones “Historically Black college Bowie State University, just outside of Washington, was where Biden addressed the gathering.
