Islamabad: The 10th Convocation-2024 of Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University was held on Saturday, the 2nd of March, 2024 in the Jinnah Convention Centre Islamabad wherein graduates in the fields of Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery, Social Sciences and Humanities, Pharmaceutical and Allied Health Sciences were awarded degrees.
A Renowned medical practitioner, Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, President of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) and Dr. Janet Holt, adjunct foreign faculty of the Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University graced the occasion as the Chief Guests and the Guest of Honour respectively. In their convocation addresses they enlightened the audiences with words of wisdom and appreciated the achievements of students and congratulated their parents. Dr. Manzoor H. Qazi, Chancellor, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University Presided over the Convocation and distributed the degrees among the graduates. Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Khan, Vice Chancellor, STMU, in his welcome address, while congratulating the graduates shared the summary of the last year’s achievements of the university.
Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Khan, Vice Chancellor Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, presided over the Convocation. In his inaugural speech, he welcomed the graduating students for their presence in this memorable and happy occasion and declared this event as a significant milestone in their lives. He congratulated the graduates and highlighted the contribution made by the University in the field of higher education. He hoped that the graduates will contribute towards scientific and technological development of the country through their ability, dignity, determination and commitment. Dr. Iqbal said education plays a vital role in economic development of country. It raises the productivity and efficiency of individuals and thus produces skilled manpower that is capable of leading the economy towards the path of sustainable economic development. He informed that the University has earned a prominent position amongst its competitors by putting high emphasis on R&D activities and its graduate programs.
The Chief Guest, renowned medical practitioner Dr. Rizwan Taj, said education plays a vital role in economic development of country. In this Convocation 02 graduates awarded PhD degrees; in the field of Nursing. The Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University recognizes the outstanding performance of its graduates by awarding Academic Excellence Medals. In this Convocation, 42 medals which include; 26 Gold, 15 Silver and 01 Research medals have been awarded to the graduates in their respective degree programs.
