Pakistan needs dialogue

0 12

The PDM led government is showing stubborn behavior in connection with the talks with Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf’s Imran Khan.

Although in the current political scenario the government has the upper hand especially after the 9th May incidents, when the leaders of PTI are leaving their leader Imran Khan all alone, the negation from the negotiations is not the solution of any problem.

But it is a fact that when PTI was in power, Imran Khan had also denied the talk process by taking the plea that he would not sit with the corrupt elements.

The people in power always show arrogance and ego , but when they are in the opposition they adopt the way of dialogue. But this practice of not holding talks with the opposition while in power, should be ended for the betterment of the country.

As a matter of fact, the door of the negotiation should be remained open for everyone in the political process as the rejection of the option of talks is a non-democratic conduct.

Though at the moment the government is not in the favour of holding dialogue with PTI’s Chief Imran Khan, but for the sake of the country the dialogue process is very necessary and being in power it is the obligation of the sitting Prime Minister to stay first in kicking off the dialogue process, with open heart, with the largest opposition party of the country.

The economic plight of the country also demands that the treasury benches and opposition benches may sit together to drag out the country from the financial crunch.

As in Pakistan the politics of gaining personal interests has been continuing for the last 40 years or so. The political leaders always join and leave the parties before every election by keeping their personal interests in mind. But no political leader is thinking about the country.

Currently the cohorts of Imran Khan are going in other parties leaving him behind either on external pressure or on the voice of their conscience as the same had happened with other parties in the past. But the political history of the country tells one thing, that no political party could be finished forcefully .

It is the need of the hour that there should be some political figure to play the role of arbitrator between two political forces of the country and in the current circumstances, the leaders of other political parties can do it.

In the past the Ameer of Jamat-i-Islami, Senator Siraj-ul-Haq made a desperate move to bring PDM and Imran Khan on the dialogue table , but some elements made it a matter of ego and so he could not be succeeded in his sincere efforts .

In the prevailing situation there is one person who can take both PDM and Tehrik-i-Insaf on the same table and that is the former President and ‘supremo’ of PPP, Asif Ali Zardari.

The history also articulates whenever the dialogue process was disregarded, then as a result it were the people of Pakistan who suffered a lot. In other words, they have paid the price of the mistakes of their leadership.

The whole nation is looking for the economic revival of the country but it is not possible to complete the task without taking all the political stakeholders on board. But it seems that the political leadership of the country has not learned any lesson from the past.
