Karachi: Pakistan cricket team underwent their third round of COVID-19 testing today after arriving in New Zealand for T20I and Test series.

Pakistan team might be allowed to train during their isolation period if the health officer is pleased after conducting an assessment.

“Following the results of these tests, the Canterbury DHB medical officer of health will conduct an assessment of whether the team members who have not returned positive tests can have an exemption from managed isolation to train,” New Zealand Minsitry of Health said in its media released.

“For this to occur, the medical officer of health must be satisfied that training is unlikely to transmit COVID-19,” it added.

Meanwhile, two of the six initial COVID-19 positive cases in the Pakistan squad are no longer infectious.

Note, six members of the squad had tested positive on the first day of the team’s arrival while a seventh member tested positive on November 25.

The remaining 46 members of the squad in managed isolation in Christchurch returned negative results on day 3.
