Few days ago Fatima, a 10-year-old domestic worker, worked in the home of Peer Asad Shah’s residence in Ranipur, was severely abused and died in a bedroom.
Then after the incident, a video went viral on social media showing the distress and pain Fatima suffered on her bed, which led to her eventual death. Subsequently, Rani Pur police lodged a case against Peer Asad Shah, on the complaint of Fatima’s mother Shabana Phirdu. Peer Asad Shah was arrested, while his wife Hina, alias Sonia Shah, secured pre-arrest bail from the local court.
Peer of Ranipur has political influence, as he belonged to the family of former Chief Minister Sindh. Aftab Shahban Mirani but this is the right time to keep all the factors aside and make the Peer Asad an example for others. He should be treated as the killer of his minor home maid .
In the city of Rani Pur in the Khairpur district, the main accused, Peer Asad Shah, who was arrested in connection with the case of the 10-year-old girl Fatima’s death due to severe torture. The local court in Sukkur had placed Asad Shah, under four-day physical remand in police custody.
DIG Sukkur Region Ghulam Hussain Dahri informed the media that whenever the police submit a request to the court for exhumation for the purpose of investigating the murder or conducting a post-mortem, the police are legally bound to assign personnel to guard the grave until the post-mortem is conducted.”
The police had also arrested the SHO Amir and Dr. Abdul Fatah Memon who diagnosed Fatima’s cause of death as an illness instead of violence. However, they are not nominated in the FIR.
The accused told the court that the girl died due to high fever and no violence was inflicted on her.”
In his statement he said that several other underage girls like Fatima work as domestic servants. Their parents are his tenants, who willingly let them work for him.
The girl Fatima, who was killed by severe torture, was buried by her parents without any medical report and post-mortem.
Now the powerful and wealthy Peer and his flowers would insert pressure on the poor and helpless parents of deceased Fatima for taking compensation and withdraw their case as the same was happened in the murder case of Shahzaib where powerful killer Shahrukh Jatoi was freed by the court as his rich parents gave compensation money to the family of murdered boy.
Recently a judge’s wife who also tortured a little house maid in the federal capital, Islamabad was arrested but freed after one night on bail.
For how long the influential people would get the bail and concessions from the courts, while on the other hand the poor man is running from pillar to post for getting justice but in vain.
Now it is the high time for the court of law for not allowing the powerful elements to buy the justice for few amount as compensation money and bring Asad Shab to the justice in the true sense so that no one can dare to torture the young and underage domestic servants.
