Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, attended a special ceremony today in honor of the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas. The event aimed to promote interfaith harmony, religious tolerance, and brotherhood, reinforcing the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and rights of minorities in the region.
In his address, Prime Minister Rathore praised the Christian community for its positive and constructive contributions to society. He emphasized that minorities in Azad Kashmir are an indispensable part of the state, with a vital role in the socio-economic development of the region. He acknowledged that followers of all religions in Azad Kashmir enjoy complete religious freedom and equal rights, a cornerstone of the PPP government’s policies.
The Prime Minister assured the Christian community that their problems would be addressed on a priority basis. He reaffirmed that the government’s doors are always open to people from all faiths and communities, and the administration is committed to resolving any issues they face. Rathore stated, “Serving the people is the mission of our government, and this mission will continue unabated.”
The Prime Minister also emphasized that the PPP government is working tirelessly to foster an environment of interfaith dialogue and tolerance, ensuring peaceful coexistence among all communities. He expressed his hope that such efforts would further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between the various religious groups in the state.
As part of the celebrations, Prime Minister Rathore cut a Christmas cake alongside prominent members of the Christian community, symbolizing unity and shared joy. The ceremony was attended by a number of key figures, including Senior Minister and Minister for Law, Mian Abdul Waheed, Secretary Information Sardar Adnan Khurshid, Pastor Faizan, Mayor of Muzaffarabad Syed Sikandar Gilani, and a large number of Christian community members.
The event was a significant reflection of the government’s commitment to inclusivity, equal rights, and the promotion of harmony among diverse religious groups in Azad Kashmir. It served as a reminder of the shared values of peace, respect, and mutual support that bind the people of the region together.
