PM AJK , CM GB opens Muzaffarabad Gilgit Bus Service

The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir , Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan has said that the bus service between Gilgit and Muzaffarabad would promote tourism in the area.

He said this after the inauguration of Muzaffarabad-Gilgit Bus Service , which is started by Northern Area Transport Company(NATCO). The PM AJK along with Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Barrister Khalid Khurshid inaugurated the bus service at PM’s House here on Thursday.

The PM AJK said that after Eid the Azad Jammu and Kashmir government would launch a tourism bus service from all major cities of Pakistan to Muzaffarabad.

He said that the route between Muzaffarabad and Gilgit has a great potential and the people to people contact of AJK and GB would enhance through the bus service.

He said that 23rd March has a great significance for the Muslims of the subcontinent as they passed the Pakistan resolution in 1940.  Pakistan is the epicenter of hope for the oppressed people.

The PM said that on the other side of LoC, the Kashmiris are giving sacrifices for their freedom from Indian clutches. Nobody can defeat them. The day of their independence is not so far away.

“The AJK government would provide technical support to Gilgit Baltistan in the fields of communications, housing , designing and agriculture and we would benefit in those fields from the experience of GB in which they are advanced from us. The citizens of Gilgit Baltistan would be given rebate on 35 percent on shopping in Muzaffarabad and 25 percent concession in the bus fare”, PM AJK added.

He announced that Bank of AJK would open its branches in Gilgit Baltistan similarly in reciprocal move the co-operative bank of GB would be allowed to expand its operation in Azad Kashmir.  Whereas the quota for the students hailed from GB in education institutions of AJK will also be increased.

He said that both the governments would cooperate with each other in setting up medical and engineering universities.

On the occasion the Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Barrister Khurshid Khalid said that the GB government would facilitate the AJK citizens , when they travel to GB. He said that the bus service would not only develop tourism but also create opportunities for the people to promote business and trade.

Regarding the project of Rato-Shonar tunnel he said that when the government of PTI would be in Islamabad , the construction work on the tunnel would be commenced . The project would be viable for defense point of view.

The cabinet members of AJK as well as GB , high officials of both the governments were present on the occasion.
