PM AJK explores economic ties with Pak-China delegation

Islamabad: In a significant diplomatic move, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq of Azad Jammu and Kashmir convened a high-level meeting with a delegation from Pakistan China Chamber of Commerce & Industry on March 24, 2024 at the e Jammu Kashmir House in Islamabad, the meeting delved into multifaceted discussions aiming to bolster economic ties and explore avenues for collaboration between the two nations.

The delegation, comprising Bilal Ganjua, Vice President of Pakistan China Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Syed Tawqeer Haider, Advisor to Security and Evy Action, engaged in comprehensive deliberations with Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq. The agenda primarily centered around potential investments and joint ventures in various sectors crucial for the economic development of Azad Kashmir.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged insights and perspectives on a wide array of sectors including infrastructure, tourism, envy action, agriculture, and small industries. Recognizing the strategic significance of these sectors, the participants explored opportunities for bilateral cooperation and the implementation of projects aimed at fostering sustainable growth and development in Azad Kashmir.

A key highlight of the discussions was the exploration of avenues for direct investment from China into Azad Kashmir. Both parties expressed a keen interest in facilitating and promoting direct investment discussions, emphasizing the importance of fostering an enabling environment conducive to investment and economic growth.

Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq reiterated the unwavering commitment to the time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China, highlighting the enduring nature of their bilateral relationship. He underscored the shared principles and values that underpin the Pak-China friendship, emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation and collaboration for the mutual benefit of both nations.

The delegation acknowledged China’s significant contributions to the development landscape of Azad Kashmir, particularly highlighting the importance of hydropower projects initiated by China. Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq lauded China’s efforts and expressed gratitude for its continued support towards the economic progress and prosperity of Azad Kashmir.

In a bid to encourage external investment in Azad Kashmir, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq assured the delegation of the government’s unwavering support. He pledged to extend VIP protocols and facilitate investors interested in contributing to the economic development of the region.

The meeting between Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq and the Pak-China delegation marks a significant step forward in strengthening economic cooperation between the two nations.
