MIRPUR: Prime Minister of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, has issued directives to the Regional Administration and police officers, emphasizing the uncompromising commitment to biometric attendance of officers and employees for the establishment of good governance. Those government employees who do not adhere to the discipline of official service should resign immediately.
The Prime Minister urged officers to adhere to punctuality and discipline, checking the attendance of their subordinates thrice a day. He emphasized that officers should lead by example, refrain from levying taxes on the public when absent, and provide services to the people only when present. Transparency in governance is evident as the government has saved 3 billion rupees by tendering only in the municipal department.
To further promote public welfare, the government will implement an e-filing system with biometric verification to prevent file loss and ensure timely decisions. Departments with surplus vehicles are instructed to promptly gather them in the transport pool, failing which action will be taken against them.
Addressing to the Regional Administration and police officers, the Prime Minister AJK stated that officers and employees collecting salaries from government taxes must dedicate one hundred percent of their time to public service. Any employee who refuses to comply with the discipline of punctuality will not remain in employment. The entire state machinery must adopt a role model of discipline and service delivery according to rules and regulations to eliminate the gaps between rulers, bureaucracy, and the public, and uphold the dignity of individuals.
The Prime Minister emphasized that those who have given jobs based on personal connections should be brought back if they are occupying government homes without entitlement. Officers who have granted employment based on personal relationships will also face consequences. Stringent security measures are implemented to maintain law and order. Security SOPs are enforced at all entry points to ensure citizens are not inconvenienced.
The Prime Minister announced the introduction of an e-filing system in government offices to ensure timely work and prevent unnecessary delays or file disappearances. He emphasized providing maximum facilities to the people of Mirpur and ensuring timely completion of their work. On this occasion, all officers pledged to implement the Prime Minister’s directives with a commitment to achieving one hundred percent compliance.
