POEPA leaders meet Saudi Consul to discuss bilateral cooperation

Islamabad: Chairman of the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA), Syed Rehmat Ali Shah, along with leader Shakeel Abbasi, met with Saudi Consul Dr. Hamad bin Maher Al-Atawi to discuss bilateral cooperation in a cordial meeting.

During the meeting, POEPA leaders praised Saudi Arabia’s services and emphasized the close ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, describing the two countries as “one in spirit.” They acknowledged the pivotal role of Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki in strengthening relations and highlighted that Saudi Arabia hosts the largest Pakistani workforce abroad, providing livelihoods to millions of Pakistani families.

They also expressed gratitude for the support of the Saudi Consulate in Pakistan, saying that it plays a key role in facilitating overseas employment and welfare of Pakistani workers. “Overseas Pakistanis are benefactors of the country, and we remain committed to sending as many skilled workers as possible to Saudi Arabia,” they added.

In response, Saudi Consul Dr. Hamad bin Tahir said Pakistan is Saudi Arabia’s closest friend, citing the recent bilateral defense agreement as proof of the growing strength of the relationship. He assured that the consulate’s doors remain open to support initiatives that further enhance Pakistan-Saudi ties.
