PPP Appoints Sardar Abid Hussain as AJK Additional General Secretary

Rawalakot: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former Information Minister, Sardar Abid Hussain Abid, has been appointed as the Central Additional General Secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The appointment follows the nomination by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the approval of PPP AJK Central President Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, with General Secretary Faisal Mumtaz Rathore issuing the official notification.

Sardar Abid Hussain Abid is recognized as a senior and ideological leader of the party, who has endured numerous hardships, including imprisonment, during his long political career. He has held several key positions, including Information Minister, Advisor to the Government, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, and Deputy General Secretary during the tenure of the late Benazir Bhutto. In addition, he has served as Party Finance Secretary and Chairman of the Student Organization. His long-standing dedication and sacrifices, particularly for PPP and political workers at large, serve as a guiding example. This appointment has sparked renewed zeal and determination among party workers and youth in Rawalakot.

The decision has been warmly welcomed by party workers, who praised the move as a step toward strengthening coordination between the party’s senior leadership and its younger generation, while further consolidating the organizational structure.
