Meeting Focuses on AJK Red Crescent Challenges
Islamabad: Presidential Adviser Sardar Imtiaz Khan held a detailed meeting with Secretary of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Red Crescent Society, Gulzar Fatima, at the Kashmir House, Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad. The meeting focused on the working of the Red Crescent Society in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the challenges currently faced by the humanitarian organisation.
Personal Staff Officer to the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Syed Kamal Haider Shah, was also present on the occasion. During the meeting, Gulzar Fatima gave a comprehensive briefing on administrative matters, operational constraints, and key issues affecting the performance and outreach of the Red Crescent Society in the region.
She highlighted the need for institutional strengthening, timely provision of resources, and enhanced coordination to enable the society to effectively respond to humanitarian needs, emergencies, and community welfare initiatives across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In response, Presidential Adviser Sardar Imtiaz Khan assured the secretary that all issues faced by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Red Crescent Society would be addressed on a priority basis. He reiterated the commitment of the presidency to fully support the organisation in line with the vision of President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry.
He stated that all possible resources would be utilised to transform the Red Crescent Society Azad Jammu and Kashmir into an active, efficient, and effective humanitarian institution capable of serving the people during times of need. Syed Kamal Haider Shah also endorsed this assurance, emphasizing that no effort would be spared to strengthen the organisation and enhance its capacity to deliver vital humanitarian services.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to maintain close coordination and take practical steps to resolve the issues at the earliest, ensuring improved service delivery and institutional performance of the Red Crescent Society in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
