The DG of Swat Development Authority provided a comprehensive briefing to the Commissioner of Malakand Division regarding tourism activities, encroachments, parking, and other facilities in the new tourist destinations of Swat. He emphasized that illegal taxes and frequent encroachments in tourist spots not only hinder the growth of tourism but also cause irreparable damage to the natural beauty due to irresponsible human activities.
He informed that, similar to developed countries around the world, Swat Development Authority is working on such tourism projects in Swat in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Tourism. These projects not only aid in the conservation of ecosystems but also present a clear potential for the enhancement of tourism. Commissioner Shahidullah praised the steps taken to open new tourist destinations under Swat Development Authority and affirmed that strict action would be taken against encroachments in Malakand Division, including tourist spots, and anyone damaging the natural beauty of these picturesque tourist sites would face administrative consequences.
Commissioner Shahidullah stated that Swat and Malakand Division possess nature’s invaluable gift for tourists, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world to witness its beauty. With an increase in tourist activities, the local economy will also prosper.
