Quetta: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Mandokhail held an important meeting with the Secretary Information of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Kashmir and Pakistan Chapter, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, at the Governor House Quetta to discuss the grave situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Governor Mandokhail warmly received Mushtaq Ahmed Butt and expressed deep concern over the worsening human rights situation in the occupied valley. During the meeting, Butt briefed the Governor in detail about the ongoing Indian state terrorism, gross human rights violations, and the aftermath of India’s unilateral and unconstitutional actions of August 5, 2019.

He explained that through these illegal measures, India not only abrogated the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir but also launched a deliberate campaign to undermine the region’s Muslim identity, suppress its cultural and religious heritage, and turn it into a Hindu-majority territory.

Mushtaq Ahmed Butt also shared reports of atrocities committed against Kashmiri youth, women, and political leaders, including extrajudicial arrests, suppression of media freedom, and inhumane treatment of political prisoners.

Expressing deep concern, Governor Jaffar Mandokhail said the Indian actions pose a serious threat to peace, not only in South Asia but across the world. He reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to raise the voice of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination at all international forums.

The Governor reiterated that Pakistan stands firmly with the people of Kashmir and considers India’s unilateral actions a blatant violation of United Nations resolutions and international law. He urged the United Nations, the European Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and global human rights organizations to take immediate notice of India’s oppressive policies and play their role in ensuring the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for his warm hospitality, solidarity, and unwavering support for the people of Kashmir. He stated that the strong expression of unity from the leadership of Balochistan reflects the deep emotional and national bond that the people of Pakistan share with the Kashmir cause.

President of the PML-N Kashmir Community Quetta, Mirza Shamshad, was also present on the occasion. The meeting concluded in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, reaffirming that the struggle for Kashmir’s freedom and right to self-determination remains a shared cause of the entire Pakistani nation.
