Serious efforts needed to create employment opportunities in AJK: Imran Aziz

Rawalakot: The Azad Kashmir Business Forum President, Sardar Imran Aziz, expressed concerns for the people of Rawalakot have been deliberately kept away from business, knowledge, and skill development under a big conspiracy.

Speaking at a press conference in Rawalakot alongside Qazi Mohammad Asif, District President of the Press Club, Aziz criticized the government’s budget preparation process, highlighting that recommendations made in pre-budget seminars held at universities are often disregarded. The Business Forum, however, feels a responsibility to fill this gap and will be holding its own pre-budget seminar in Azad Kashmir to gather proposals from citizens, students, and entrepreneurs, which will be presented to the government.

Sardar Imran Aziz went on to stress that the government’s current “copy-paste” budget approach cannot change the fate of the people and that public needs must be given priority in the budget. He also emphasized that new business opportunities, particularly in the tourism and IT sectors, should be provided to tackle unemployment in the region. Aziz argued that serious efforts are needed to create new employment opportunities, and the government must prioritize developing tourism and IT industries.

The Business Forum intends to organize various programs to increase business activities in Azad Kashmir and attract citizens to the opportunities. Like every year, pre-budget seminars will be held in all districts to collect new proposals. Aziz believes that proposals from people of every class of thought, including students and entrepreneurs, should be included in the budget. He stated that there is a need to focus on education and skill development to compete with the West in the long term.
